Let Us Keep Busy
If we were busy being kind,
Before we knew it we would find,
We would soon forget to think 'twas true,
That someone was unkind to you.
If we were busy being glad,
And cheering people who were sad,
Although our heart might ache a bit,
We would soon forget to notice it.
If we were busy being good,
And doing the best we could,
We would not have time to blame
Someone who is doing the best he can.
If we were busy being true,
To what we know we ought to do,
We would be so busy, we would forget
The blunders of the folks we've met.
If we were busy being right,
We would find ourselves too busy quite,
To criticize our neighbor long
Because he is busy being wrong.
