Today
Challenges come! Opportunities present themselves! Obligations face us! Today! Plans, intentions, and resolutions, however noble, can never replace today’s challenges and obligations.
The Bible is a
now book.
Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation, Paul said,
Redeem the time, it’s valuable.
Live today as well as you expect to tomorrow! Do today what you have planned to do someday! Live today to the fullest; it’s really all you have. Don’t crucify your today between two thieves -
yesterday and tomorrow. Yesterday is gone; tomorrow is only a vision. The promises of God are good today. The job of the Lord is obtainable
today. God’s power is available, not only yesterday in history, and tomorrow - in eternity, but
today.
Some boys were sitting around a table and one was asking.
What are you going to be? They were giving the usual answers: doctors, lawyers, firemen, policemen — etc. Finally, he came to one young man who was very quiet.
What are you going to be? He asked. Very calmly, the young man replied,
I already am!
Someone once said,
One of the most dangerous days in a man’s life is when he discovers the word tomorrow. Tomorrow is a great labor-saving device which must not be allowed to encroach upon today. It belongs to God! James says, we don’t know what tomorrow holds.
James 4.14.
Live today! Act today! Do it now!
