NO GOOD THING DOES THE LORD WITHHOLD
FROM THOSE WHO WALK UPRIGHTLY

How easy it is for us to forget the truth of Psalm 84.11! God is the Great Gift Giver. James 1.17. God is not stingy; He does not withhold blessings from His children like the man who dangled a carrot just beyond the mouth of a mule just to get it moving! God may not always give us what we want, but we are assured from the Word that our Father, who knows how to give good gifts, Matthew 7.11, to His children, what we have is what we need.

Paul’s words ought to be imprinted on our hearts. He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, will He not also give us all things with Him? Romans 8.32
Perhaps we need to be reminded that the No good thing, Psalm 84.11, and the Every perfect endowment and every perfect gift, James 1.17, includes the opportunity to grow through discipline. God’s gifts include the possibility of experiencing what some call today Tough Love, a love that exercises firmness and even pain to bring about maturity. (Read Hebrews 12.3-11.) The familiar Romans 8.28, which is so often misunderstood, includes the No good thing...in the FACT that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose. The child of God interprets or perceives that everything that happens to him is the all things of Romans 8.28, even though at the time it might be painful or difficult. For the Christian who loves the Word, all of life is seen with a perspective of the spiritual mind that knows that God does all things well.
