The Book of Life

We are all authors. Every day we write another chapter in the book called Life. Others read the book of our lives as we meet them along the way. One day we will give an account for what we have written. What is written in the Book of your life??

1) Is it a Book of Faith?
        Can others read a message of faith in God by the way you live? “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11.6) Do they see your faith making a real difference on the job, in the community and in the home?

2) Is it a Book of Service?
        Jesus said that He came to serve. “The son of Man did not come to be served but to serve.” (Matt. 20.28) If we are truly His disciples, we too must be servants. We must seek to serve those in our homes, in the church, in our community, at work, at school; wherever there is a need. True religion expresses itself in service.

3) Is it a Book of Obedience?
        The key to religion is obedience; the key to obedience is submission. “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.” (Hebrews 5.8,9).

A poet has written:
       No matter what else you are doing
        From cradle days through to the end,
        You are writing your life’s secret story;
        Each day sees another page penned,

        God leaves it to you to write it
        And never a word shall grow dim,
        Till the day you write the word “Finis”
        And give back your Life’s Book to Him.
