Excuses For Quitting The Church

Have we quit the church? If we are not attending the services, what else would we have to do to quit the church. If we are making excuses, are our excuses any better than some others? If we are not attending, what else would we have to do to quit? Look at some excuses that are made and see if ours are any better than these.

People were not very friendly. Perhaps we need to read and examine Proverbs 18.24, A man who has friends must himself be friendly. If we are not friendly, maybe someone is saying the same about us.

I was mistreated. Do we think Jesus was never mistreated? Did He quit? Do we think there are others who have been mistreated? Did they all quit? When Jesus was mistreated He prayed, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

My parents made me go to church when I was a child. Did our parents make us brush our teeth when we were young? Have we quit brushing our teeth? Our parents made us work when we were young, have we stopped working? No doubt our parents made us do all these things, but we don’t stop doing those things that are right and good.

There were too many hypocrites in the church. We must stop and think that each person must give account of himself to God. There are hypocrites at ball games, and stores where we shop. Do we quit going to these places? We are not going to have to answer for the hypocrite, but for ourself.
The preacher said something I didn’t like. What is the preacher for? He is not there to tickle our ears, but to preach the Bible, the truth. If he said things in a mean or angry way, he will have to answer to God. If he preachers the Truth, he will still have to answer to God.

Let's admit it, most of us quit the church, because we want to quit. The question is, have you quit the church?

Give Your Children A Drug Problem

I was drug to church,

I was drug to VBS,

I was drug to Sunday school.

When I was disobedient, I was drug to the wood shed.
